I'm so glad to have found Cheryl when I did, my husband and I have been having huge problems communicating effectively and were caught in a vicious cycle. She has helped us to begin to break that cycle, and be more aware of what & how we're communicating with each other. My husband struggles with many issues, alcohol addiction is the biggest driving force for why we are unable to work through anything. Cheryl has created a very calm and understanding environment, and we have both left each session with more understanding and compassion for each other. Even my husband has told me that he feels lighter when we leave a session, and this is coming from a man who does not like talking about his problems openly, much less his feelings. I feel like we are on the right path finally; we still have a lot of work ahead of us, but at least we are making forward progress for once.

About Thrive Counseling
I am licensed to practice in the State of Missouri. If you are seeking therapy via phone or video sessions, please note that you must reside within Missouri. I enjoy offering in person sessions as well. If you’re exploring therapy, chances are you’re looking for a safe, supportive space where you can gain clarity and insight into your current challenges. My goal is to help you shift your perspective, discover new ways of coping, and provide you with tools to move forward in a healthy, empowered way. I’m especially passionate about making high-quality counseling services accessible to individuals and families in rural Missouri—including my hometown of Warsaw. Whether you’re located in Kansas City or a smaller town across the state, I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant sessions via phone or video to meet you where you are. Being a therapist is more than a job—it’s a privilege. I see humanity at both its most vulnerable and its most resilient. Everyone who comes to therapy has a unique story to share, and I believe that story deserves to be heard with compassion and care. I find great joy in helping people process their experiences, own their narratives, and move toward more satisfying, fulfilling lives. Since 2013, I’ve been honored to walk alongside my clients on their healing journeys. Many have told me they feel truly heard, understood, and supported in our sessions. There’s no greater reward than seeing a client finish therapy with renewed strength—and knowing they can return at any point if life brings new challenges. ⸻

I had a great experience very responsive and caring.
She reputed her fee was 75.00 a hour! She failed today it was another 75.00 first time visit for “paper work”! A lot of the conversation was on one subject I brought up! Tried to get back with her wanting my extra 75.00 back! No response! Vey disgusted in her not reaching back to me. It may help if you get back to her! Maybe you can retrieve my extra 75.00 back! Money does not gown on trees!
We have only had one session, but already feel like we have chosen an individual that will help us on this journey to rediscovering our marital relationship
Cheryl is very responsive and also very friendly and professional. We are currently doing our premarital counseling sessions with her.
I should have started with Thrive Counseling years ago. It's been an amazing journey so far and she has helped me discover things about myself that have been holding back the relationships I have with others - and myself.
I felt comfortable right away and got great advice at the very first session.
Had to cancel because of strenuous circumstances. Texted contact number with no reply so i felt bad and sent an email via thumbtack asking for a reply. Finally texted back 30 minutes before scheduled evening session and said she would reschedule. Never did even after text message and thumbtack messanger. Just letting us know either way would have been courteous. I felt so bad and did my research to not blow her off so hoped for the same reciprocation. Never met. Never heard from again.
Cheryl is professional and engaging. She makes me feel comfortable, and I always leave feeling more hopeful than when I arrived.
Doesn't file insurance claims on your behalf which could result in clients paying higher co-pay because there is no negotiation on cost of service, and doesn't offer assistance in completing the forms.
As a lifelong seeker of truth, I have experienced several different counseling relationships. Finding Cheryl has been a true blessing for both my wife and me. She has been a life-saving presence in our lives. She has created an incredibly safe space for us to begin a journey to understanding, healing and a stronger bond of love. I highly recommend working with her. It will change your life.
I've not had many sessions but she's hitting the nail on the head and I feel comfortable and positive to have her help me in my journey.
My husband and I go see Cheryl as a way to keep our marriage "in shape" and get the occasional needed tune-up. Cheryl has been instrumental in helping us communicate better, avoid unnecessary arguments/misunderstandings, and just create better lives for ourselves. She is non-judgmental, supportive, and easy to talk to. Highly recommend!
Cheryl has been a wonderful counselor. Combining her knowledgable experience with her openness and understanding, she has helped me cope with both my recent problems with grief and my long-term issues. I feel understood and respected, and because of Cheryl I now have a new way of framing my perspective and a set of tools for personal situations. I would recommend her to anyone seeking quality counseling.
Cheryl is very perceptive. Her analysis and solution suggestions have been very helpful. She has exceeded our expectations.
Cheryl is great! Very professional and experienced. My wife and I came to her in a difficult time in our marriage. Cheryl gave us the tools and direction to navigate through our issues and we are now on a path to a stronger more loving marriage. I know the lessons we learned in counseling with Cheryl will stick with us for the rest of our lives.
Nice and compassionate therapist. Cheryl has been great for my wife and I.
