I hired Scott to do a job, the security system he installed had terrible video quality. After multiple attempts to fix this including blaming a the distortions on an "electrical phase issue," he finally replaced the DVR with a much cheaper dvr unit that doesn't have near the functionality of the original unit. Now we are having problems with that unit and several cameras are inoperable. Unfortunately, Scott has decided to stop answering my texts and calls, and has ignored my business partner as well. Avoid this guy and his shoddy work at all costs, he doesn't keep his word and he can't keep an appointment commitment to save his life. I spent $5000 dollars on a system to upgrade a seriously outdated revo remote system and wish I had my old system back. He's the type of guy who gives all contractors a bad name!
We bought a very expensive security system from Total Security Technology. We did our research and thought this was a reputable company since there were no reviews. Scott seemed very nice and understanding of our needs. However, we had issues right from the start! We agreed to the locations of the cameras. Sadly, we didn’t take pictures of all the holes his employee put in our clap boards trying to install the cameras. We have a historic home, so it was a little heart breaking. One camera was not put in the location where we agreed. The next month we had a theft and did not have good camera footage because of where he decided to put one of the cameras. After I called and complained, he did come and put a new camera up were we originally agreed upon. It did not match the other cameras since we wanted them to blend into the house. He told us it was just temporary till the new one came in. That camera has never been changed (years) and still sticks out like a sore thumb! The system (GEN IV) itself continued to go in and out with footage. His employee came and fixed it twice. They gave us absolutely no training on how to work the system which left us to rely solely on him for any issues. We did our best to educate ourselves on the system through constant research. We even called the company (GEN IV) directly and they refuse to speak to anyone that is not a licensed installer/dealer. The system continues to have issue, after issue, after issue. We have e-mailed Scott numerous times! We tried being nice, we tried being sympathetic, we tried to understand he was busy, we even tried begging him for help, but to no prevail. We have given up and now live with a $1700-dollar system that barely works. Scott knows we have a lemon and does nothing but acknowledges there are issues and continues to tell us month after month he will fix it. This back and forth has been going on for years! He has yet to come back and fix this system even after acknowledging there are issues. At this point, he will not even reply. It’s been years since we have been able to even view footage wireless! The cameras must be rest every week so to get any type of recorded footage. The issues are long and boring so no need. Scott, you know you did us wrong! You told us over, and over again, you would fix our system. Our review is in hopes to save others from this company! Good luck out there and please take this as a BEWARE! I posted this review in hopes that no one else will be a victim. He had it taken down from Thumbtack which violated my right to freedom of speech! He tried to say we think its a life time of service. In short, he does not stand by is product. He then went and sent me nasty messages through this site. That is why there is review update button. We never got proper training or continued service from him. We have e-mails where he admits its his equipment. Find a pro this is not one of them!
1st time I met Scott I told him what I needed and where I need my civilian cameras. 2nd time we discussed price he was very knowledgeable to present me with a different type of camera that fit my needs and was more affordable. 3rd I met his technicians and they started doing the rough of the wiring 2days into it I job was completed! Well done
