I have booked Troyka twice for moving. One time two years ago and again last Saturday. Each time they have done a superb job! They were right on time and they responded quickly to any questions I had. They handled my furniture with care and not once did any of my belongings break! They were quick to follow up and communication was flawless...punctual the day of, worked super hard and took amazing care of my things, were respectful, kind, professional, and did an amazing job. QUALITY at its finest. The Troyka moving team exceeded my expectations. They were timely, professional, and extremely safe with my furniture. They ensured safety first above all and meticulously applied protective wrapping on all my furniture. During the moving process they were cautious and mindful to ensure a safe delivery of my items. I was shocked with how quiet and seamlessly they brought in my furniture. I had oversized bedroom and living room furniture and was unsure if would be possible to move due to the narrow hallways. THEY MADE IT HAPPEN. Alex, Ali- you both are exceptional! Thank you for your hard work and professionalism. Your optimism and focus really gave me peace of mind. I will be using Troyka for all my moving services.
tl;dr - stay away. They are bad faith actors with a lack of integrity and honesty. Don't let them tell you otherwise. We first hired Troyka when we moved in June 2021, and they did a good job, so we hired them again for our move last week. It was a disaster, and I would never recommend this company again due to their commitment to dishonesty and lack of integrity. First off, the movers showed up 3 hours late. They contacted me the night before to request it be pushed a couple hours because there was another move scheduled last minute before mine. Unfortunately, because of forecasted rain, the timing wasn't flexible, so I was told they could find other movers and that it would be delayed no more than 30 minutes, which I was ok with. The day of the move, they showed up late, and when I called, they said the movers would come an hour late and due to fog and wanting to be cautious, which was a lie (lie #1) because I was already told the day before it was because there was another move scheduled before mine. When the movers showed up, their truck and personnel were not familiar. When I asked if they worked for Troyka, they said they were subcontractors. I was not given any notice that the work was going to be farmed out, and when I confronted Troyka about it, they insisted that the movers were their own employees (lie #2) and had no idea why they would tell me they were subcontractors. The movers themselves were friendly, and I really thought they were doing their best, but the quality of work was subpar, and one of the movers admitted that he didn't have much experience. The move took way longer than it should have and the quality of work was not very good. Again, I liked them as people, but if I had known the work would be subcontracted out, I would not have agreed to it. Once done, I spoke to a manager at Troyka about showing up late, taking too long, and damaging some of my property. I was constantly getting interrupted and lied to, but we finally settled on a price at which point I paid. Finally, as we started to unpack after the movers left, I found some more damage to multiple expensive pieces of furniture, at which point I reached back out expressing my frustration. Instead of taking any ownership and accountability (keep in mind they claim to be insured), they just said I agreed on a price and that there would be no other concessions made. If in fact they are insured, there should be a way for me to file a claim for the damages they caused, especially the dent in the wall they made. Everything is still pending, so no final resolution, but stay away. They do not act in good faith.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! This business is a SCAM! They are difficult to get on the phone, and either slow to respond or never respond via email. They claim there are no hidden fees, but charge you for something their website clearly states there is no fee for. See attached picture of email correspondence. We tried booking with them and asked for an invoice and a confirmation number and they NEVER RESPONDED. I’ve moved multiple times and have always received an invoice and confirmation number. We ended up canceling since they couldn’t provide simple documentation.
My experience was rather terrible, it seems that one of the movers was really inexperienced and this might have been his first job. I moved from a 1BR to a 1 BR so you can only have so much stuff - both places had an elevator but the move still took way too long. A third person from their co. joined them at the end, so who knows how much longer it would have actually taken had the third person not showed up. But besides that some of my items were damaged in the move. I do not have a lot of furniture as it's a 1BR so I was rather disappointed when I realized that none of my items were wrapped to be protected in the move. My coffee table which has a glass top was badly scratched in the move and there were some cuts on couch as well as broken dishes. Also, my big plant that I cherish so much had one broken branch which I can understand happened in the truck during transport but it seems that things could have been secured better or wrapped in a way so no damage occurred. I only moved 3.3 miles down the street so I can’t even image what would have happened if it was a further drive. I reached out directly to TROYKA about my experience however I have not heard back from anyone at your company.
