Reviews
I am very happy with the work of Value Dry. I hired them to replace a sump pump and assess better drainage options. After consulting with 3 different service teams, Value Dry offered a variety of affordable options. If you are looking to overspend on commercial grade appliances for your home then you will want to look elsewhere. But if you want a residential grade, dependable, trustworthy, and honest type of service, go with Value Dry. They do not try to oversell you. You will not pay for premium, unnecessary extras because these guys only charge you for what you need. A very big thank you to Taylor for his superior service. He is also an absolute hero! He saved me from running into two baby toads, which would have absolutely given me a heart attack. Taylor went above and beyond, working through the heavy humidity with a great attitude. *I did experience a scheduling hiccup with this company. Tip: use only one phone number or email to communicate and confirm your final appointment the day before service.
Keep calling and insisting owner must be present for their free cost estimate disregard owner is out of state. I have authorized my tenants to allow contractors access only because I need the cost estimate. They still disregard this. There is no Md law required owner to be present. Only owner and company can enter contract.
ONE STAR — HOMEOWNERS SHOULD BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS BEFORE HIRING VALUE DRY My experience with Value Dry Waterproofing was deeply disappointing, unprofessional, and, in my opinion, ethically unacceptable. I hired Value Dry for approximately $12,000 of foundation, masonry, sill/bearing, debris-removal, and structural-support work associated with getting my house properly back onto its foundation. I paid them $8,000. The work was not completed. During the project, Value Dry performed demolition and foundation-related work. After masonry had already been removed, I was told that another $1,500 would be required to restore openings. I disputed this because I had not approved that additional charge beforehand and asked for a written explanation of what supposedly was not included in the original agreement. Value Dry later acknowledged that the proper signed change-order process had not been followed before the disputed work was performed. That is exactly the kind of situation homeowners should fear: your house is already opened up, the work has already been done, and then you are told more money is required to put things back together. The unfinished work was not minor. A subsequent written agreement addressed two permanent Lally columns, removal of existing block columns and debris, restoration of twelve openings, and disposal of concrete debris. Value Dry scheduled its crew to return on July 21, 2026, to continue the work. Then, on July 17, Value Dry President James A. Ketterer sent me written notice stating that Value Dry would perform no additional work at my home and would not return for the scheduled July 21 appointment. Value Dry also stated that it would not seek any additional payments and considered the money already received adequate compensation for the work it had completed. Notice the wording: the work they had completed — not that all agreed work had been completed. In my opinion, that is astonishing. A contractor should not accept thousands of dollars, become deeply involved in major structural work, leave agreed-upon work unfinished, schedule a return visit, and then simply announce that it will not come back. I was actively trying to resolve the dispute. I even proposed putting disputed funds into neutral escrow so Value Dry could be assured payment was available while I could be assured the agreed work would actually be completed. Instead, Value Dry walked away. This experience was not simply about whether I liked their workmanship. It was about business ethics, transparency, additional charges, unfinished work, coordination, and whether a contractor stands behind its commitments when a homeowner is in a vulnerable position. A home is often a person's largest financial asset. Contractors performing foundation and structural work should operate with exceptional honesty, professionalism, communication, and accountability. Based on my documented personal experience, I would never hire Value Dry again and would never recommend them to anyone I care about. If you choose to hire Value Dry, get every single responsibility, exclusion, price, change order, completion requirement, and payment milestone in writing before work begins. Preserve every text, email, photograph, receipt, and agreement. I believe the public deserves to know about experiences like mine before trusting a company with their home or their money. One star only because zero stars is not an option.
Asked for 100$ just to make an appointment.
They said they will reach out to me but never did
They were very quick to respond and schedule a free estimate- I’ll give them that. But the amount of man-splaining, high pressure sales and flat out wrong information was near criminal. The gentleman who arrived was not aware of the older models of sump pump well / French drain systems we have and claimed mine was installed incorrectly and needed to be dug up and replaced to the tune of $20k plus. He also didn’t want to even explore where or how the water was coming in. Said if the drains were working it wouldn’t matter. Not true. Again with the man-splaining. Then I was given several terrible videos to watch that were clearly created for everyone that these guys try to prove that this is a French drain fail. How was it that specific- do they use this same “diagnosis” for everyone? And finally they followed up with a high pressure - lock in now or the price will go up- statement. I have no trust for these guys. I’d had shelled out 20k and still have water pouring into my foundation. I spoke to a few trustworthy professionals, did some research, and did some water tests of my own and found the issue myself. Broken sump pump discharge pipe. I also tested my French drains- they work perfectly and are installed correctly. Buyer beware.
I did not hire this company to do the work, but was impressed by the comprehensive estimate given by Steve. Ultimately price was the deciding factor as I’m paying out of pocket
Value Dry was quick to send a technician to complete the estimate. He was punctual, thorough, reviewed all the possible options and tried to work within my budget. The work was impeccable, and the house left cleaner than initially. Plus they provides a transferable 8 year warranty for the sump pump they installed. Truly outstanding company.
Was not even able to get a proposal for the work because they refuse to come out unless I can guarantee my spouse will be present for the meeting. Very shady.
Great experience working with the company!!
Great work! Excellent service
Excellent customer experience! The technicians were prompt and very professional. They explained everything and provided recommendations for future consideration.
Pricing is almost double than other service provider. So I did not take the service. Also there is no $0 estimate which other providers do. Thank you for your time though.
Trying to take advantage of people got someone for 250 on thumbtack. They are trying to take advantage of people
No work performed as of this date. Very quick to reach out to my inquiry and text questions
Excellent service and work but comes with a heavy price tag. Life time warranty which is great.
