When I first contacted Chris, I was excited about having him take on projects at our vacation home. In the summer of 2019, we talked with him about doing an exterior paint job, but we missed the season and told him we'd look to him to paint it in summer 2020. In the the meanwhile, we hired him in the fall of 2019 to install a new water heater (which he successfully completed) and install insulation in the attic (which he partially completed). We also hired him to lay floor tile in the kitchen, laundry and bathroom, and to finish the bathroom including installation of a tile shower surround and texturing and priming the walls. We told him he could work on the tile and bathroom job over the winter as his schedule allowed, as we don't usually spend much time at the house during the winter season. He made progress on the tile job, but when I visited the house to inspect his work in February and again in March 2020, I expressed concerns about the quality of his work. The grout in the floor tile was spotty, and the shower surround had uneven cuts in the tile, tiles set at different depths, unfinished grout, and messy caulk. He was supposed to match the knock-down texture from the rest of the house, but he sprayed orange-peel texture instead. He said he would finish the entire job by the end of May 2020, because we planned to start using the house for the summer season. We got there at the end of May, and I found the tile and bathroom job in the same condition as it had been at the end of March. He did not return my phone call in May 2020, and he didn't respond to my emails in June and July 2020. He abandoned the job without finishing it! Now I have to pay someone else to re-do and complete the job, including tearing out the entire shower surround and starting over with new backer board, new tile, new everything. Chris has cost me thousands of dollars in extra expenses for replacement materials and hiring someone else to re-do the job. And one last issue with hiring Chris - he and his worker stayed at our house while working on the tile job. They left spilled food in the fridge and then unplugged and fully closed it, resulting in smelly mildew for me to clean. The toilets were filthy. There was tile adhesive on several doors and door knobs, grout splattered on the cabinets, and tile adhesive tracked on the living room rug. There are more details I could share, but basically Chris left the house a mess. Perhaps he's OK with smaller jobs or tasks other than tile, but our experience working with Chris was terribly disappointing and ultimately terribly expensive.

Chris comes to work on time, works a full day. He offers good suggestions. He has a wide array of knowledge and skills. He is neat and does not leave a mess in the work area. He has outstanding work ethic, His work is excellent.

Chris responded to my request the same day that I posted it and came to look at what needed to be done that afternoon My house is about 50 years old and invariably something is uncovered during a project that was nor anticipated. Chris responded with a great solution and completed the original project then addressed the siding issue and painted the new siding all within 2 days Chris was punctual, paid close attention to detail and cleaned ul the work area at the end of every day I highly recommend Chris to anyone looking for a professional and reasonably priced handyman

They had given me a time in which they would show up, but on the day of the appointment I never heard from them. I called and messaged on thumbtack but heard nothing back. I would not recommend hiring someone who cannot stick to their appointments, or at the very least, tell someone they cannot make it.
