We had some wood rot on our shed door frame. I contacted Alex and he responded very quickly. After asking him some questions to ensure he was the right contractor for the job, I hired him and we were able to schedule a day very quickly. I found Alex to be very friendly and professional. He is very honest and does the job well. Since the shed did not have a gutter, I was afraid after he fixed the issue, that it would occur again. So I asked him for recommendations, and he came up with an awning. After finding out the awning would not fit above the door like a typical door frame due to the height restraints, he was able to customize the installation so that it would fit just below the roofing of the shed. Although it took some finagling to get it up and be waterproofed enough so it wouldn't leak at the seam, Alex went over and beyond to figure out how best to seal it and I am very pleased with the end results. I really appreciated his responsiveness whenever I texted him. I'm just sorry I didn't take pictures of the before and after. Suffice it to say, we would definitely hire him again for any door, window or roofing issues we might have.

We had a few door issues and needed someone to fix. Alex was great from the initial communication and quote through setting up a time to completing the work. Work is excellent and would totally use Alex again if we have any window or door issues.
I saw that Alex had 17 years experience, so I thought he would be a good fit for my job on an old house. He responded quickly and was available to start the work in 2 days. He determined that he needed parts and got back to me as soon as they were in to start the work. He took care fixing the two old aluminum frames & locks and showed me how to maintain them for a longer life.

I rarely write reviews, but this one is well deserved. I hired Thumbtacker to repair a door that had been previously worked on by another handyman. The original repair was poorly done and left me with more problems than solutions. Thumbtacker quickly identified what was wrong, explained the issue clearly, and fixed it properly. The quality of the work was excellent. The door now operates smoothly, looks great, and feels solid. What impressed me most was the attention to detail and professionalism throughout the process. He took the time to do the job right rather than looking for a quick fix. Finding someone who can correct another contractor’s mistakes is not easy. Alex is great! He responded right away and communicated well (he uses a translator app which worked great) and came over within hours of posting my project. The door modifications I needed were technically tricky and he had the knowledge to handle them. He stayed late to finish the project in one day which we really appreciated. He quoted a price and stuck to it even though he needed to make a trip for a rarely used tool bits and he didn’t charge extra for it even though they cost over a $100. I’m very frugal but paid him a little extra for being so great!
I don’t recommend him at all I sent him clear video for what is going on in my video he acted he knows how to do them that is his specialty he did not fix it changed 250 silicone I could of done my self but that was not the issue he uses ChatGPT for languages communication and he play it dumb changed for doing nothing
I don’t usually write bad reviews, but this warranted one. Although I purchased the wrong parts to replace the weather stripping on my front door, he recognized this yet installed the wrong parts anyways. In the process he not only damaged the parts of my door he was attempting to replace, but he also broke my actual door handle and locking mechanism. My door also doesn’t close properly on the frame. I tried to communicate to him multiple times “this won’t work” or “stop” to which he didn’t listen and continued trying to just make it work. I now need to replace my entire lock and door handle and potentially my actual door frame. Also he left a mess (in photos). Terrible and frustrating.
Alex came by to fix my window and I was amazed that he had the right parts already handy and was able to do it in less than 2 hours. I had broken a spring and it wasn’t an easy fix. I was so pleased that I asked him to come back and fix another issue with the window. Both times he responded within the same day and the job was done by the end of the day. Highly recommend!

Where do I start; Alex is such a lucky find! I had 13 windows to fix. They are old windows in a Victorian House, and the issues were different per window - some had nails in them, others did not shut, others were broken. He came out, assessed everything and then got everything done. And top of it all, he was an absolute pleasure to work with - professional, great communication about timelines and more. Then, he noticed a few other items around the house, like an additional window and a draggy door that was squeaking, and he fixed those too - free of charge. He sent pictures of everything as well as videos. Alex was so helpful. In fact, I am looking what other jobs I can get done with him given he is such an experienced and professional handyman with many years of experience in construction and repair. Needless to say, I highly recommend Alex.
