Reviews
I did not hire this person but the valuable inputs that he provided is exceptional. He care more about being honest and upfront. I like his ethics and his guidance.
Chris ws very prompt answering all my questions and was straight to the point.
Excellent hire!!!!
This was the best work experience I have had with any professional. The relationship started with a picture + hope that someone could help me with my 1960s kitchen. The picture's really speak for themselves and I haven't got the flooring done yet but I don't want to waste a moment on telling everyone how wonderful. Chris and Alex are at woodworking to design
Chris is rude and unprofessional i fired him mid conversation and then read the poor reviews thankfully he revealed his hand. People before you hire a contractor on Thumbtack please read the reviews don’t hire this individual. i definitely can’t say professional
I cannot say strongly enough what a great company this is I have no complaints about absolutely anything whatsoever. They always responded promptly. The work they did was above excellent they were professional. They were respectful. It was a good value. I had a pantry built, pantry, cabinets built and some woodworking done in that room and they were prompt. They were tired. They were clean, I just can’t say enough good things about this company is extremely well run
My wife and I were looking for a built in to go around the panio and they delivered exactly what we were looking for. The work completed by Chris and his team was amazing with the quality being next level, the communications above and beyond, and the overall experience was excellent! I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them! Note: Will add a few more pictures once we get the room all set up. The picture uploaded was right after completion.
Chris did great work! Easy to work with.
I highly recommend Woodworking2design. They were puntual, very professional, knowledgeable, and the finish crown molding looked great. All at a reasonable price.
Chris did a BEAUTIFUL job on my library shelves. He made excellent suggestions regarding the design that resulted in a home library that I am showing off to anyone who will sit still long enough. He was able to do changes on the fly, as well as add in some extra shelves after the job was done. He was also really interesting to talk to (this guy has done EVERYTHING!!), and, as a teacher I highly recommend his work because he also helped sponsor our end of year pizza party! He will also work extra hours to make sure the job is not just done but done to his high professional standards.
Beautifully done, just the way we asked for. Most of all the honesty and ability to take an extra step to help the customer makes Chris stand out in his work. Would definitely have some other projects lined up for him.
Amazing work!! Very sturdy and beautiful.
Beautiful cabinets. Chris communicates well and is a pleasure to work with.
Chris was a very thoughtful designer who wonderfully executed my vision. My built-in bookshelves/cabinets were exactly what I wanted. I appreciated how he asked detailed questions about the cabinets' construction/design and build so I could provide feedback. Without his suggestion, I never would have ended up with my amazing wardrobe at the end of my bookshelf (by far my favorite part). I plan to use Chris for other upcoming projects!
Chris did a great job filling the void that was left in our cabinets after removing a built-in combo microwave / oven.. He had a hard challenge of making the counter top microwave look built-in and in creating new drawers in original construction cabinets. Chris was great to collaborate with and together we came up with a great option for a wood trim around the microwave. We would definitely recommend Chris to anyone looking for custom kitchen cabinets.
DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN If you value your time and money, do not hire this man. Chris Magee presented himself as an accomplished cabinet maker with five years of experience under his belt. We hired him with the agreement that he would build our custom cabinets within 5 weeks time, on a payment plan paid weekly, which seemed fair. He wanted to build onsite, and we agreed. What we did not know, though, is that according to him, Chris actually has only been building cabinets for one year. Ours was one of very few kitchens he has actually worked on. He almost walked off the job midway through when, due to his lack of communication skills, we discovered he was not building the style of drawer fronts that we wanted. We settled and compromised so that he would not leave us stranded with a skeleton of a kitchen. We should have let him leave then. At week 5, when the kitchen should have been completed, the situation turned disastrous. The few cabinet frames he had installed had to be reinstalled with the help of my father-in-law because they were installed so poorly. At this point we had paid him over 80% of the agreed upon amount, which included material costs. Chris asked for MORE money for materials. He had less than 50% of the job completed, and at this point should have already bought all materials needed. He never provided us with any receipts despite our frequent requests, and so we refused to give him any more money until the job was complete. Apparently, our refusal to pay any more of our already wasted money angered him, because soon thereafter he abandoned the job. He left the job unfinished with no explanation. Our kitchen is a disaster. Unfinished, uninstalled cabinets, completely unbuilt cabinets, poor craftsmanship, a poor paint job, and heartbreak is what this man left behind. He has stolen our money and has left us with an unusable kitchen. Did I mention that we have a newborn baby during all of this chaos? I wish we had never met this man. He has taken so much from us, and I just hope you will heed my warning and not let him steal from you as well.
Chris did a great job putting in built in bookshelves. We are very happy with them. He is responsive and a really great guy. We live the work he did and would hire again.
Chris is not only an outstanding woodworker, he’s a very nice person and nice to have around. He completed our laundry room cabinets and as soon as we come up with the new design, we’ll have him remodel our kitchen island. We sincerely appreciate the meticulous work he did for us.
Chris was excellent. He took time to review all details of the project to make sure it was a perfect outcome. He's very easy to work with and we look forward to our next project.
