I hired Zero Trace through Thumbtack for an approximately $20,000 backyard renovation. Before work began, we had multiple discussions about the design, and the contractor provided a sketch showing two separate paver areas, including a main patio larger than the pergola. The estimate did not include patio dimensions. What was actually built did not match the sketch or our discussions. The main patio was extremely small and could barely accommodate one chair, while the pergola was placed on the grass instead of over a larger patio area. When I raised the issue, I was told they completed what was listed in the estimate, even though the estimate did not clearly state the patio size and the completed layout was materially different from what had been discussed and drawn. I told them to stop work and leave before the project was finished, but they still charged me the full remaining balance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Anyone considering hiring them should require exact measurements, a scaled drawing, and every design detail in writing before accepting an estimate or allowing work to begin.

I hired Zero Trace to build a retaining wall to replace the one that had rotted away. Unfortunately, a large tree had moved itself underneath and damaged the entire retaining wall. The owner of the company Jackson sent a crew out to build the wall unfortunately, a portion of it was crooked and I was not happy with it. The owner of the company Jackson sent a team out to fix the wall. They disassembled the retaining wall added the changes needed and finish the job. Personal shout out to Kevin and Amir for working outside in the brutal heat, they did a fantastic job and receptive to fixing the error
Dont do shortcuts!! I basically got charged from this company for them to hardly shape trees, no edging, no getting the debris from the yard before putting down mulch, complaining about dog poop because they didnt want to do the work properly nor professionaly, basically stating to me well this is what you asked for at this cost type of thing..either way it wasn't done professionally regardless of the cost. The trees shrubs over the fence were done 75 percent decent. Edging nonexistent. 2 bushes and mulching wasn't done, I had to call him and tell him about that! He did cone out that evening to take care of it and I appreciate that but I STILL had to move vines and debris from them. At this point I've contacted my Contractor who do not specialize in Landscaping, who will fix the yard for us. My husband is lívid!! Especially since he had to leave town for a few weeks. Military members beware! Go with another company!! Hello, at this point contractors may be doing better yard than actual landscapers!! Im not being mean, im just stating the facts and my experience. Home Depot here i come to get more mucho and rocks!! Oh...I even have the videos i sent to Jackson...crickets!! What a shame!! Whats up with quality work now days????
They quoted me a job for $20,000. I turned it down after my credit card declined the down payment. They have been aggressive on texting me and sending me invoice. It’s a bad experience. However, the sales person did show up quickly after I placed a quote. I will never make another appointment with Zero Trace.
Zero Trace did an excellent job replacing a 7x33 foot section of my lawn. They were quick to provide a quote, and the pricing was fair and reasonable. The project was scheduled promptly, and the team arrived right on time. They took the time to explain their process clearly before getting started, which I appreciated. The work was completed faster than expected, and the finished lawn looks great. Overall, a smooth and professional experience from start to finish.
Kevin did a great job and the yard looks fantastic!
