“I interviewd SIX contracting firms, back to back, there at the house. It was enlightening to see how each reacted to the job and the high level of work, hear their different ideas for what needed to be done, and to see the final bids. One contractor seemed so overwhelmed by the project, I was really a little worried for him. Another walked out on me before even seeing the whole house! But Joey was AMAZING. During his FREE consultation (not all of them were), he was calm, kind, pleasant to chat with, optimistic and positive, and displayed so much knowledge and understanding of structrual engineering, our budget constraints, and where we needed to focus our resources. He saw issues that other contractors missed, and he was confident and resourceful about some issues that other contractors seemed to make a bigger deal out of than was warranted (my guess was to increase the bid price). Joey (and a few others) were like- "thats not a big issue- simple, cheap fix!" and Joey also explained *why* and *how*. I appreciated how he was both quick and throrough in his walk through. Other contractors either took *forever* or rushed through to where I didn't feel confident in what they were bidding on. We ended up getting an incredible "friends and family discount" sort of deal, but even still it was such a difficult decision becuase we just absolutely loved Joey and the ideas he had, and I just got a strong sense of honesty and integrity from him. Had we not been offered such an amazing deal, we ***defintely*** would have gone with Joey's company. Not only did I just like him as a person and knew I could work well with him, even from far away, his bid was very competitive (about $30,000 less than the next lowest bidder), and was by far the most thorough, detailed, and straight forward bid we received. I have no doubt he would have done an excellent great job had we hired his company. I highly recommend you contact him for your project. I am sure you will love him too!”

“Very glad I hired Happy Bay for my condo remodel. Water damage meant I needed to replace flooring throughout the unit, and patch walls in the kitchen and laundry room. I changed out the kitchen counters and did some minor electrical work in the bathroom as well.The bid was reasonable and accurate, and the timing as predicted. Eshel and Ali struck me as a good team the first time they walked through my place, and the work Happy Bay did bore that out.After work was complete I discovered a pretty bad scratch in the flooring. Their response was, 'of course we'll fix it,' and they did. Within about a week, they bought another box of my flooring and two of the guys came out and replaced the damaged boards. I had already paid in full so you could imagine a contractor just disappearing on you. Not only did they not disappear, they've been out since to complete a minor repair and reiterated that if there's anything else to let them know. I particularly appreciate that they stand behind their work.”

“Contracting was easy. We changed a few window sizes so needed architectural signoff for our permit. If there was one weakness it was this process as their designer made some measurement errors that slowed us down - but we did get the drawings done and the permit issued (and they do have other designers they work with). Once the permit was issued and building started, TechLine went to town with A+ performance and attitude. They were very competent, showed up every single day, worked fast, and were respectful and friendly with all questions and unexpected things that came up. I tried to visit the house every day or two to make sure things were as I wanted, and TechLine was fine with this. It helped move the project along and answer any questions quickly as they came up. I am thankful they were gracious about this oversight because I could see some contractors feeling cramped with this approach. For me, it really ensured the project turned out how I wanted it. We added to the project as we went when we saw opportunities, and they were always reasonable in their pricing and fast to execute. The end result is fantastic - the house is airtight, the finishes are just what I wanted, and we're very happy with it. Re: timing, we had to move out and were worried about doing construction during the rainy season, so we wanted it done fast. The whole project was done in 3 months as promised, even though we added to the scope as we went. My neighbors were amazed by how fast it went, and one neighbor subsequently hired them for a project. I did hire a separately licensed electrician to do the rewiring, which I was not so satisfied with, and probably should have had TechLine do the electrical too. Overall, I highly recommend TechLine. Thanks to Lorena, Ben and Jose and team for helping us make our house so much nicer. I would definitely hire them again.”
