“It was revealed that not only was the chimney wide open, but the mortar holding the bricks together was so old that it was falling apart, AND, the opening had a flute in it, but it was not doing the job in a manner that prevented water from getting in. Jeyson cut the chimney back about 10", removed the old crumbled mortar, put in new mortar, created a cement capping, waterproofed the chimney, and put a sealant around everything so that there were no gaps at the roofing material and flashing such that water could seep in. Great and thorough, permanent solution that looks good, and I'm happy!”
