Mary Milburn says, “We had a leak underneath our kitchen sink. The plumber we'd used for years didn't get back to me so I had to find a new one, which I dislike because of the possibility of getting ripped off. I called HGFI. The scheduling lady was really nice and she had Trevor come out that day.Trevor and I were talking when he arrived and he mentioned it was his first day out doing calls for the company. So he explained that the faucet was leaking, rather than the pipes, which my husband tried to fix. We also needed a new stop valve (it was very corroded and beat). I called my husband and had him on speaker phone the whole time because I don't know much about plumbing and he could talk to Trevor, too.He wrote up the quote, which named the faucet as the primary problem and the valve as an "add on," along with the price of a new faucet. Then I remembered that my husband had bought a new faucet a few months ago because it had been leaking around the sink a little, but he never installed it (I'm thinking that's why this place is called Honey Go Fix It!!). My husband said he would install it.Trevor revised the quote for the price of the stop valve only, which took the total from several hundred dollars to $150, including labor. That seemed crazy low. So he went to get the stop valve and report his revised quote to his supervisor. When he came back in he was pretty devastated to tell me that when he revised the bill he left the stop valve at the "add on" price, when it should have been named the primary problem. Being new, he didn't realize that's how it should have been billed. He offered to eat the difference or to give us $200 off.I knew he was being truthful because 1) His shirt had a different name than Trevor on it because he was so new his own shirts weren't ready, so it really was his first day out for them, and 2) when he gave me the original quote he walked me through it and had to click "add on" to add the stop valve price, and 3) $150 was just way to low for any plumbing call.So he did a great job, we paid the full price, and my husband replaced the faucet. Everything is great! We will definitely use HGFI again and highly recommend them.”
