Lawrence Lazarides says, “Scope:Demo & rebuild 4' x 25' timber retaining wall w/ drainage stone, piping, etc.Rebuild wood fence on top of retaining wallDemo wood patio, install paver system & border river rock*They also worked with my HOA to install a walkway with stone pavers and an 8x8 timber staircase adjacent to the retaining wallBackground:Our project started with the desire to demo and rebuild a failing ~4' timber retaining wall in our rear patio which extended beyond our property line into public space. Our HOA opted to build a stair instead of their section of the retaining wall. As you can imagine, this got a little complicated as it required a number of different reviews and permits from the city.I opted to manage the permitting myself, which involved a number of revisions to drawings and schedule delays. AtlasGC was very patient and accommodating during this process and also helped me work with the city to get the drawings approved. The city-driven changes to the design introduced added cost after their initial quote, but in order to keep the project from falling further behind schedule, they moved forward and absorbed the added cost.Communication/Professionalism:Shiraz and Abdul were very communicative and professional during the entire process. During the design evolution, Shiraz assembled a number of revised quotes which were very clear, timely and professionally assembled. We discussed a number of different options for the construction of the wall and he was very transparent regarding price, time, etc. During construction Abdul, Melvin and his crew were very respectful of the area kept a clean construction site. Once started, the project progressed quickly and completed within the established timeframe.AtlasGC was also very patient and obliged to a couple of requests I made to make adjustments to their completed work per my personal preferences. They did this free of charge, without hesitation.Pricing:We had a number of contractors provide quotes on the project and AtlasGC was by far the most competitive. So competitive, in fact, that we decided to also have them hardscape our entire patio with a beautiful stone paving system.I highly recommend AtlasGC for their work, professionalism, collaborative spirit, and competitive pricing.”
Kirsten S. says, “I really appreciate the quick response received from Mr. Lawson concerning my bathroom makeover. The price point for his bid was within my budget, and the turn time for the project was great. I did my best to communicate with his subcontractors, but the message was lost several times. I provided pictures of what I wanted for the tile to go up only 5 levels (picture shown), explained it to the tiler, but the subcontractor didn't follow my instructions. This lead me to believe a language barrier, but I thought the picture would have helped. I spoke again and asked the subcontractor if he had enough black finishing edging tile to surround the shower as well as complete the backsplash on the vanity. He answered "yes, he had 3 black tiles" for the backsplash on the vanity. Perfect, I thought. Since the tiler tiled up 6 levels instead of 5, my project was short on greyish tiles, as well as the black tile edging. He had just enough black edging tiles to complete the shower with none left for the backsplash. This was the second miscommunication. Since I had 3 - 12x24 greyish tiles left, this became my makeshift backsplash...not my original plan. Last, but not least, I asked to equally space the medicine cabinets with 9.66" between each cabinet which placed the one cabinet centered above the sink. I had measured and hoped they would follow my instructions. I provided a picture and explained it to the subcontractor(s). What occurred was 15" in the middle and approximately 7" on the outside. Small frustrations with communication. The overall project turned out fine, just not how I had originally planned. Most importantly, I have a usable bathroom and it was done in a very quick turnaround. Thank you.”
Erika B. says, “Four Seasons Design Build designed and built a beautiful paver patio and completely renovated our existing deck and added a larger deck and staircase. Luis Servin says, “Beautiful work. I got some concrete done at in my back yard, about 4 yards of concrete done. They finished within 3 days. Fast and efficient.”
